I have a pair of telephoto lenses for Nikon cameras that are sold & priced separately...
First is a AF-VR Nikkor 80-400mm f;4.5-5.6 ED super zoom. Very nice & versatile zoom range and very sharp throughout. The VR really alloys you to shoot this lens at slow shutter speed even hand held. I'm asking $600 for that lens.
The second is a very fast and sharp manual focus prime telephoto lens a Tokina AT-X 300 SD f:2.8. The fast maximum aperture makes this lens perfect for low light shooting or using fast shutter speed. It comes with a Tamron SP 2X teleconverter to give you a 600mm with an effective aperture of f:5.6 I'm asking $500 for this lens.
the 80-400 comes with a padded pouch and the Tokina 300 comes in a small camera bag, all caps & hoods included.
I'm only selling these lens to finance the purchase of a extreme zoom lens 150-600mm with VR more suited for wildlife & bird photography. The 80-400 lens doesn't have the reach that I need and the manual focus 300 with the teleconverter has the reach but is both heavy and harder for me to focus as my eyesight is not what it used to be. The 2 pictures included show the Tokina AT-X 300 SD wide open with effective aperture of f:5.6 ISO 800 @ 1/750sec. hand held with a Nikon D600 24MGP camera The second is a cropped section of that picture. The little blur there is id from motion not sharpness.
Conclusion use either a monopod or tripod for best results.
Note: When used on DX (cropped sensor) camera you get a 120-600mm f:5.6 zoom lens with VR which gives you over 3 stops of play with the AF-VR Nikkor 80-400 ED lens and a 450mm f:2.8 or 900mm f:5.6 prime lens. I haven't notice any loss of light from full frame to APSC due to using the central portion of the lens with the later contrary to the believe that you have to apply the crop factor to the f:stop as well from my observations anyway.
